Position Summary
Performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and building requiring practical skill and knowledge. Be proficient in trades such as mechanical maintenance, electrical, painting, carpentry, plumbing, and masonry work.
Responsibilities- Performs maintenance skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and/or hydraulic troubleshooting.
- Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment and performs scheduled maintenance repairs.
- Replaces electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors.
- Handles complex repairs with minimal supervision and trains others.
- Performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all equipment from blueprints, technical manuals, or vendor specifications.
- Maintains electrical, electronics, and mechanical systems.
- Ensures the safe and efficient operation of all equipment to meet company and corporate quality expectations.
- Assists with installation, testing, and validation of new equipment and facility development projects.
- Performs routine cleaning of facilities and grounds.
- Conducts and records periodic inspections of facilities and equipment.
- Maintains maintenance documentation, maintenance history, and all appropriate documentation for all projects and corporate equipment repairs.
- Performs preventive maintenance and upkeep on refrigeration equipment, electrical facilities, and plumbing.
- May need to periodically travel to the outbuilding facility.
- Performs alterations and additions that can be accomplished by the maintenance department.
- Assures that safety measures are established and maintained consistently according to Hospital Policy and governmental regulations.
- Hospital maintenance experience required (3+ years preferred).
- Hospital life safety experience required including regulatory documents.
- Experience with HVAC, building, equipment and utility maintenance.
- Ability to provide maintenance responsibilities and the use of power and hand tools.
- Experience with all building trades preferred (Drywall Repair/Painting Included).
- Electrical proficiency preferred.
- Must be able to speak, write and understand English and be a self-starter.
- High School Degree or equivalent.
- Demonstrated competency in skill area as indicated by verifiable training and/or experience.
- Must be 21 years old.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- 3 year’s related experience in a health care environment, and any federal or state required licenses and certifications.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
None specifically required, refer to years of experience in the job classification and responsibilities. (Would prefer Universal EPA License).
Physical Requirements- Must be able to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
- Must be able to work in a standing position for 8 or more hours per day.
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Must be able to successfully pass, as required, a federal, state, or local government's background investigation.
