* What We’re Looking For:
** We’re hiring experienced Equipment Operators to support underground utility construction projects, including installation, maintenance, and repair of utility systems.
** Responsibilities:
*** Operate heavy equipment including excavators, plows, dozers, trenchers, skid steers, and hydro-vacs
* Perform trenching, digging, grading, and back filling for utility installation
* Support installation of fiber, telecom, gas, water, and sewer systems
* Load and unload equipment from trailers safely
* Read and interpret utility maps, construction plans, blueprints, and job layouts
* Use utility locating tools to identify and avoid existing underground utilities
* Locate and protect existing underground utilities
* Hand dig around live utilities as needed
* Perform daily equipment inspections, equipment logs, and job reports
* Follow OSHA, DOT, company safety guidelines, and jobsite safety procedures
* Participate in jobsite safety meetings and hazard assessments
* Communicate with crew members, foremen, and supervisors
* Report equipment issues, incidents, and near-misses promptly
* Assist with training and mentoring laborers as needed
** Requirements:
*** 1+ year heavy equipment, excavation, or underground utility construction experience
* Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record
* Ability to operate at least one piece of construction equipment used on the job
* Ability to read utility maps, blueprints, and job plans
* Good verbal communication skills
* Strong safety awareness and damage prevention mindset
* Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
* Able to perform physical labor for extended periods, including lifting up to 80 pounds
* Able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work on uneven terrain or in confined areas
* Able to pass drug screen and background check
*
* Preferred Qualifications:
*** High School Diploma or GED
* Vocational training or apprenticeship
* OSHA 10 certification
