Automatic Door Service Technician

Automatic Door Service Technician - $30-$45/hr - Springfield, MA

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automatic Door Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting door service calls, performing repairs, and completing scheduled maintenance based on customer needs. The successful technician will represent our company in a professional manner, promote our products and services, and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction during every service visit.

• Assist and perform maintenance efficiently and effectively on door equipment including automatic doors, entrance doors, handles and closers.
• Diagnose faulty equipment and apply knowledge of functional operation of unit and systems to identify extent and cause of malfunction.
• Work with dispatch team and other departments.
• Understand the safe use of equipment and tools in compliance with OSHA standards.
• Complete work orders on computer-based documents according to established procedures.
• Project a positive image when interacting with customers, employees, and management in a supportive, courteous manner.
• Communicate with parts and sales departments to ensure customer needs are met; report any potential customer issues promptly.
• Travel throughout coverage area during the workday.
• Drive safely and efficiently from point to point in the service area.
• Proactively support safety program and initiatives, comply with all safety policies and procedures, and ensure use of safe work practices on site, in the warehouse, and in the office.
• Perform work in a variety of customer environments including exposure to elements and in-climate weather.
• Perform all other duties assigned.

• Experience in servicing and installing automatic pedestrian doors.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Mechanical and electrical skills required; troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, and procedures; write basic reports; and communicate clearly with customers and team members.
• Able to perform basic math and read a tape measure.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to follow written, verbal, diagram, or schedule-based instructions.
• Valid driver's license required; must obtain AAADM certification (ANSI 156.10 & 156.19) within six months of hire.

The job requires frequent reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. The employee regularly stands, walks, and uses hands to finger, handle, or feel. Occasional sitting is required. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 150 pounds. A two-person lift is required for anything 50 pounds and more. Ability to work at heights using ladders is necessary.

Specific vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The technician works in various environments including hospitals, pharmaceuticals facilities, business offices, and retail locations, and is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
