Mechanic, Trades ​/ Skilled Labor

Shift: D Shift - Thursday 1AM-7AM;
Thursday‑Saturday 7PM-7AM. Shift differential of $1.50.

To support the maintenance needs—both mechanical and electrical—of Operations and Production under standard conditions, including troubleshooting and repair, preventative and predictive maintenance. The mechanic will maintain and repair production/processing equipment to reduce downtime, eliminate losses, and improve reliability. The candidate will coach Production Technicians and junior Maintenance Technicians to develop skills and resolve maintenance issues.

• Act as an emergency brigade for fires, searches, and/or evacuations as required.
• Perform mechanical and electrical duties of a complex nature, including breakdown analysis, basic and major rebuilds, advanced mechanical & intermediate electrical troubleshooting, equipment adjustments, and fabrication.
• Investigate root‑cause failure analysis and recommend resolutions.
• Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
• Adhere to safety/GMP standards, ensuring a safe environment and reporting food safety issues to leadership.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
• 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Effective oral and written communication across all departments; promotes teamwork.
• Basic mechanic and electrical skills, breakdown analysis, rebuilds, troubleshooting, equipment adjustments, and production equipment maintenance.
• Sense of responsibility, teamwork, accountability, and adaptability.
• Ability to methodically analyze and correct diverse problems.
• Physical abilities: lift up to 10 lb up to 70 % of the time; lift up to 50 lb; work in extreme heat up to 50 % of the time; maneuver around equipment; climb stairs; use ladders; work up to 45 ft on material handling equipment.
• Knowledge of CMMS and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of Planned Maintenance practices.
• Process improvement ability and leadership.
• Can work individually and as part of a team.
• Possibly required: PAPR/Respirator, rotate 12‑hour shifts, overtime and weekend availability.

• Technical degree or certificate in industrial maintenance.
• Basic PLC/Ladder Logic and HMI skills.
