Position Summary
Our Independent and Assisted Living community is seeking a Skilled Maintenance Technician who is passionate about creating a safe, comfortable, and home-like environment for our residents. This position is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the facility while supporting our mission of enhancing the dignity and quality of life of those we serve.
The ideal candidate will possess hands‑on experience in one or more skilled trades, including carpentry, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing
, and demonstrate a commitment to exceptional service and resident‑centered care.
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance throughout the community.
- Troubleshoot and repair building systems, equipment, and facility components.
- Complete work orders in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist with carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, painting, and general building repairs.
- Conduct facility inspections to identify and address safety concerns.
- Maintain grounds, walkways, and exterior areas as needed.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures when handling tools, equipment, chemicals, and supplies.
- Support regulatory compliance and facility life‑safety standards.
- Participate in maintenance training, educational sessions, and in‑service programs.

Professional Qualifications
- Ability to read and write sufficiently to follow written instructions, safety procedures, and maintenance documentation.
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with residents, coworkers, families, and visitors.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of practical maintenance experience or related trade experience.
- Working knowledge and hands‑on experience in one or more skilled trades, including carpentry, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or general building maintenance.
- Ability to safely operate maintenance tools, equipment, and machinery.
- Commitment to continuous learning through educational sessions, demonstrations, and in‑service training programs.
- Willingness to attend training opportunities that may require occasional out‑of‑town travel.
