HVAC Technician

Job responsibilities

• Serve as the primary service and maintenance contact for Trane Technologies customers in a defined commercial market
• Commission, troubleshoot, repair, and start up HVAC systems in commercial environments
• Coordinate with team leaders, project managers, and customers to understand on-site installation and repair requirements
• Forecast issues, gather materials, and synchronize on-site work
• Serve as the direct customer contact and manage products and equipment on assigned projects
• Identify, diagnose, and repair equipment and systems at customer locations
• Use software, technology, hand tools, blueprints, and engineering specifications to diagnose and repair units
• Maintain flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and occasional overnight stays as business requires
• Enforce safety standards and maintain security and accountability of company-issued and procured assets
• Record asset use, wear, and condition

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Typically 5 plus years of experience in HVAC
• Technical School or formal training preferred
• Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software
• Working proficiency with a handheld computer, such as a smartphone or iPad
• Valid driver’s license held for a minimum of 12 months
• No major or frequent traffic violations, including DUI, hit and run, license suspension, reckless/careless driving, multiple smaller infractions, or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years
• EPA Certification
• Ability to work overtime and weekends, including occasional overnight stays, as business requires
• Safety-sensitive role; additional drug screening may be required

Demonstrates expertise in HVAC system commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair, with a strong focus on customer service and project management. Proficient in using technology and tools to diagnose and maintain equipment while adhering to safety standards.
