Cable Technician

Survey SOW:

• Perform detailed onsite surveys of existing meetinghouses.
• Review floor plans, heatmaps, and project scope.
• Verify AP locations and determine practical Cat6A cable pathways.
• Locate and document MDFs, IDFs, network racks, AV racks, ISP equipment, HVAC, door control, and chapel camera connections.
• Identify ceiling types, attic access, difficult pathways, penetrations, and constructability issues.
• Estimate cable lengths and labor requirements.
• Mark up floor plans with proposed routes and equipment locations.
• Take detailed photos and document site conditions.
• Build a complete site-specific Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Develop an installation labor estimate and identify risks or conditions that may affect pricing.

The project includes new Cat6A cabling for Client and other building systems, along with cable supports, racks, patch panels, terminations, labeling, testing, and documentation.

Installation SOW: After the survey phase, qualified technicians will transition into installation leadership roles.

• Leading 2–4 person field crews.
• Reviewing the site survey and installation plan before mobilization.
• Assigning work and managing daily production.
• Installing and supervising Cat6A cabling, J-hooks, sleeves, fire stopping, racks, patch panels, Client, and network equipment.
• Maintaining workmanship and quality standards.
• Troubleshooting field conditions and making reasonable routing decisions.
• Ensuring cable testing, labeling, photos, and as-built documentation are completed.
• Keeping the site clean, secure, and operational for Sunday services.
• Reporting daily progress, issues, and material needs to project management.

The customer requires complete as-built documentation, including AP, MDF/IDF, rack, equipment, pathway, and cable information.
