- Installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of production equipment including electrical, electronic, robotics, pneumatic and hydraulic control systems
- Troubleshooting and solving complex equipment problems
- Development and implementation of maintenance procedures and techniques for a safe, reliable and efficient operation of the plant
- Analyzing available data to improve the equipment maintenance plan
- Training and development of the maintenance and production work force
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this 3M Production role, in compliance with U.S. labor and safety laws.
- Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
- Three (3) years of industrial manufacturing technician experience in a private, public, government or military environment, in lieu of experience, a technical degree in an engineering related field (Mechatronics, Industrial Electronics, Robotics & Automation, etc.)
- Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting PLC‑controlled systems and related production equipment in a similar environment.
- Ability to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Possess or in the last 6 months of pursuing a two-year technical degree/diploma in a maintenance field in a private, public, government, or military industrial environment setting.
- Strong knowledge and experience with PLC’s, inkjet printers, extrusion equipment, ovens, hydraulic presses
- Possess a good knowledge of drive control, site HMI operation
- Experience installing, diagnosing and repairing, assembly and/or automated machinery in a manufacturing environment, robotics and automated equipment
- Strong background in electrical preventative maintenance as well as basic knowledge of electrical code covering laws of installation of electrical equipment; use test equipment, possess a good understanding for mechanical design & operation, including hydraulics, pneumatics, gear boxes, lubrication, etc.
This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work fully on-site at 3M in Springfield, MO.
