OMS Microservices Developer

Job Overview

The OMS Microservices Developer is charged with developing detailed design, testing, and deployment of Order Management Solutions (OMS) in accordance with approved Business Requirement Documents (BRD).

• Lead the development and optimization of microservices integrated with IBM Sterling OMS to support complex order lifecycle processes.
• Architect and implement enhancements to core OMS functionalities including sourcing rules, inventory management, and order orchestration workflows.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects, business analysts, and product teams to align technical solutions with strategic goals.
• Design integration flows between OMS and systems such as ERP, WMS, POS, CRM, and payment gateways using APIs and message queues (Kafka, MQ).
• Provide guidance on performance tuning, high availability configurations, and fault‑tolerant service design.
• Review code, mentor junior developers, and enforce coding best practices and standards.
• Drive Dev Ops adoption, CI/CD pipeline configuration, and container‑based deployments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and ensure timely delivery of high‑quality, production‑ready services.
• Develop accurate and efficient computer programs and processes; analyze existing program logic; design enhancements; create reports, data file extracts, and data conversion from existing databases.
• Document internal and external modifications, changes, and processes related to assigned projects.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Management and Information Systems, or a related field.
• 8 years of related enterprise application development experience.
• 24 months of experience with each of the following:
  • OMS microservices and integration with external platforms using Kafka, IBM MQ, or similar messaging tools, resolving performance and integration issues in large‑scale systems.
  • Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful API development.
  • Distributed systems, API gateways, and service orchestration.
  • OMS for the retail industry, including order‑to‑cash processes, supply chain, and real‑time inventory visibility.
  • Performance tuning, monitoring, and production support of large‑scale systems.
