Hybrid 3 days in office/week in St. Louis, MO
Our client seeks a Software Engineer to support emerging retail technologies including in-store automation, digital shelf capabilities, and item integration. The role will lead solution design, integrations, and modernization across Python, APIs, ETL, and Google Cloud. The work will influence platform strategy and measurable outcomes across the enterprise.
This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.
Rate: $50.00 to $65.00/hr. w2
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain applications and integrations using .NET / C# or Python
- Work within Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments to support modernized systems
- Support production applications, including troubleshooting, bug fixes, and performance improvements
- Contribute to API development and system integrations
- Participate in modernization efforts, migrating legacy systems to newer architectures
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions
- Produce clear technical documentation and follow established development standards
- Participate in code reviews and collaborate with senior and lead engineers
- Continuously learn and adopt new technologies as the platform evolves
- 4-7 years of professional software development experience
- Hands-on experience with:
- Python Development
- Relational databases and SQL
- Exposure to or experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred)
- Experience supporting or maintaining production systems
- Understanding of RESTful APIs and integration patterns
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Willingness to work in a hybrid environment and interact with the business
- ETL or data integration experience (Talend or similar tools)
- Experience with Big Query or cloud-based data platforms
- API design or integration experience
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern Dev Ops practices
