What You’ll DoThe Import Processing Representative I is responsible for supporting the import operations by preparing and processing import documentation, ensuring compliance with regulations, and coordinating with various stakeholders to facilitate the smooth entry of goods into the country. This role requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and a basic understanding of import procedures. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Documentation Preparation and Entry Processing:
Prepare and process import documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
Ensure all documents are accurate and comply with import regulations and company policies.
Regulatory Compliance:
Verify that import shipments comply with relevant regulations and laws.
Stay informed about changes in import regulations and update procedures accordingly.
Collaborate with leads and other agents to ensure proper clearance of goods through customs.
Prepare and execute documents for U.S. Customs and other government agencies to obtain proper release and duty payment as required.
Problem Solving:
Address and resolve issues related to delays, missing documentation, or compliance problems.
Escalate complex issues to senior team members or management as needed.
Billing and Data Management:
Ensure billing is accurate and timely.
Enter and update information in the company's import management systems.
Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all systems used for import processing.
Compliance Maintenance:
Stay informed on various legal requirements to maintain compliance under import/export regulations worldwide.
Other Duties:
Perform other duties as assigned.
Receive guidance for overall objectives and work with operations within company and department policies and guidelines using independent judgment to achieve assigned objectives.
What You’ll Bring High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Windows, Word, Outlook and Excel and ten-key skills.
CES or CCS helpful
LCB helpful
Ability to manage time and work efficiently
International logistics-all modes
Understanding of customs process
Language
Skills:
