Position Details

Local CDL A Delivery Driver. Pay:
Yearly annual average $83,500.

Schedule:

Primarily Monday‑Friday with occasional Saturday. Average 10‑12 hrs per day. Dispatch times from 3am‑5am; end times vary. Occasional overnights. $10,000 sign‑on bonus.

Position Purpose

Food and food service delivery drivers fulfill a critical role in the country's food supply chain. Our delivery drivers ensure customers' products arrive on time and in good condition, while representing the company and building lasting relationships with customers.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co‑workers professionally, ensuring questions are answered accurately and timely.
  • Function as a team member within the department and organization and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.
  • Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip) including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer per Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). inspect to ensure compliance with company safety standards.
  • Report all safety issues and/or repairs required; follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies.
  • Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight, perform item count checks, and verify customer invoices.
  • Complete all required paperwork associated with freight accurately and legibly.
  • Move tractor to loading dock, attach preloaded trailer, and drive to deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule.
  • Unload products from trailer, transport items into designated customer storage areas, and perform damage control checks, scanning, and contact supervisor per company policy.
  • Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures; collect money (cash or checks) where required.
  • Load customer returns onto trailer, secure trailer doors, and ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are properly locked and secured.
  • Unload damaged goods and customer returns, bring to driver check‑in and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Unload all equipment, materials, and remove trash from trailers as required.
  • Complete daily record of hours of service and enter log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clear and clean.
  • Secure all equipment at end of shift and complete all necessary paperwork.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 12+ months commercial driving experience.
  • High school diploma/GED or state‑approved equivalent.
  • Valid CDL

    A.
  • Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years.
  • Pass post‑offer drug test and criminal background check.
  • Pass road test.
  • Valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card.
  • Able to hand‑lift and utilize two‑wheeler, lift gate, and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift (product generally ranges from 10‑35 lbs and up to approximately 60‑90 lbs).
