Preferred Qualifications Role PurposeThis position operates a 24 ft. commercial refrigerated truck (26,000 lbs with air brakes) to transport food deliveries throughout the BJC System. This position retrieves food carts from refrigerated storage spaces, loads and unloads food transport carts while maintaining appropriate temperature compliance and FDA regulations. Adheres to strict delivery time frames and maintains excellent customer service.
Responsibilities- Manages routes and routines to ensure timely delivery of refrigerated food products ensuring that all temperatures remain at 40 degrees or below. Adjusts itineraries to accommodate peak delivery times and alternate routing needs.
- Loads and unloads food transport carts making safety the number one priority. Reviews deliveries at final destination to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Completes and tracks food product temperature logs, truck refrigeration logs, mileage logs, safety checklists, vehicle checklists, as assigned in compliance with FDA, OSHA and Motor Vehicle regulations; reports deviations immediately.
- Serves as primary customer service representative for food and nutrition services; builds positive and collaborative relationships with managers/staff/dock personnel at distribution points of service.
- Demonstrates problem solving abilities related to delivery discrepancies or routing issues; communicates pertinent information to managers, supervisory personnel and customers.
- High School Diploma or GED
