The Clerk, Student Accounts Receivable is a part-time position. The Clerk bills and collects all financial transactions for the College, ensuring accurate and timely processing. This role also provides direct support to students regarding their financial accounts.

- Bills and collects student fees; responds to student questions and inquiries
- Reconciles cash receipts and web payment systems; prepares bank deposits
- Assists in calculating and processing cash and financial aid refunds
- Manages the collection of bad debts
- Reviews accuracy of student accounts and places holds
- Assists in balancing accounts receivable ledgers
- Serves as backup for the Senior Accounts Receivable Technician
- Files and maintains cashier office records
- Reviews and maintains student account payment plans
- Assists with special accounting projects as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
Six months to two years of similar or related experience
EducationA high school education or GED.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
Bondable in accordance with College bonding contract.
Work normally involves contacts with persons beyond immediate associates generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (students, visitors or vendors) requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.
Other Skills- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in cash handling and financial balancing.
- Experienced in reconciliation processes.
- Skilled in computer applications, including data entry, spreadsheets, and word processing.
- Effective communication and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including during peak periods.
The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
