Operations Manager
Job Summary
The Operations Manager Trainee role is designed to prepare you for a management career within Core‑Mark’s organization. As a trainee, you will gain hands‑on experience leading personnel in recruiting, safety and compliance, food safety measures, training, and various projects in a collaborative learning environment.
Our trainees assist in operations management across Warehouse, Transportation, and Facilities. The trainee will assist in managing an established operations budget, plan for future growth, and implement changes as needed to accommodate business needs. Functions as a team member within the department and organization as required and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.
Responsibilities- Responsible for learning OSHA safety programs and systems; operations business processes, systems & tools; and performance management.
- Collaborate with all frontline managers to learn day‑to‑day business operations (Warehouse Manager, Transportation Manager, Inventory Manager).
- Work with safety to continue to create a safety conscious culture.
- Complete the assigned Perform curriculum and all other assigned training courses.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
- 2‑4 year degree in Business or related field, or experience equivalent to schooling.
- Proficient knowledge of warehouse management systems, email systems, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field is preferred.
- 1‑2 years of leadership experience in the warehouse, transportation, or distribution field is preferred.
- Experience in food service, wholesale, retail or convenience is highly desired.
- OSHA forklift operator certificate.
