OB​/GYN Locum Role – Springfield, OH (Hospital-Based | L and D + GYN Surgery

Locum Physician – OB/GYN

Location: Springfield, OH

An opportunity for an OB/GYN physician to provide hospital-based coverage with a strong focus on Labor & Delivery. This role offers consistent call shifts, supportive staff, and a well-equipped facility with Level II nursery services.

• Practice Setting: Hospital-based | 90% Labor & Delivery

• Coverage Dates: TBD

• Call Schedule: Two weekends/month (Fri–Sun)

• Call Ratio: 1:4

• Beds: 34 (L&D/Postpartum/Triage) | 205 hospital total

• Team: 4 physicians, midwives, L&D nurses, APP support (1 per 12h shift)

• Onsite: Lab & Ultrasound

• Patient Mix:

  • 60% Low-risk pregnancy | 40% High-risk pregnancy

  • 60% GYN cases

  • Avg. 5 GYN surgeries/day

  • 1 C-section patient per day on average

  • 4 nursery admissions/day (Level II Nursery)

• EMR: Epic

• Board Certified OB/GYN – REQUIRED

• Active OH license (or willing to obtain) – REQUIRED

• BLS & ACLS – REQUIRED

• Active DEA – REQUIRED

• Call Only: 24-hour hospital call, two weekends per month

• Coverage: L&D, postpartum, triage, GYN surgical procedures

• Estimated Credentialing: 30–90 days

• Obstetrics: Low/High-risk pregnancies, FHR interpretation, OB ultrasounds

• Labor & Delivery: Vaginal & C-sections, complicated deliveries, VBACs, repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations

• Gynecology: Open and laparoscopic procedures, ectopic pregnancy, cystectomy, ovary removal, extensive LOAs
