The Springfield City School District serves approximately 7,500 Pre‑K through grade 12 students in 17 state‑of‑the‑art buildings in west‑central Ohio. Qualifications
  • Current Music (K‑12) licensure issued by the Ohio Department of Education

Responsibilities
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials; provide individualized and small‑group instruction
  • Differentiated instruction and use multiple approaches to meet diverse learning needs
  • Accurately analyze data to plan instruction aligned with Common Core State Standards
  • Design engaging lessons and assessments that meet the needs of all students
  • Teach general music and choir at grades 5 and 6
  • Apply research‑based pedagogy and maintain background knowledge of music
  • Engage students in active, hands‑on creative and innovative approaches
  • Identify and build on student strengths
  • Support academic, behavioral, and emotional programming per district policy
  • Facilitate ongoing assessments, monitor instruction, and evaluate student progress
  • Evaluate, grade, and assess student work; maintain records and report grades at the end of term
  • Provide instruction to students of varying capabilities with SEL support focus
  • Assist students in developing responsible behaviors and a positive work ethic
  • Implement effective program of instruction reflective of Ohio Department of Education standards
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals, nurses, mental health specialists, and counselors for a safe student‑centered environment
  • Communicate with parents and caregivers regarding student/classroom issues
  • Maintain a professional demeanor; exemplify responsible leadership
  • Manage all situations in a positive, professional manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Benefits and Compensation

Contracted employees work 183 days per year, 7.25 hours per day. Starting salary follows negotiated agreement, increasing with experience and education. Contracted employees receive competitive benefits. All employees receive professional development. Current pay and benefits align with the 2025‑26 school year agreement.
