Select Tech Services is seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Advanced Manufacturing Engineer IV to support the design, development, and manufacturing of advanced aerospace components and systems. This role bridges engineering design and manufacturing execution, combining design engineering, CNC machining, fabrication, and prototype development to accelerate product realization.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable designing parts in CAD as they are programming, setting up, and operating CNC equipment on the shop floor. This position plays a critical role in supporting prototype development, low-rate production, and continuous process improvement while working closely with cross-functional Engineering and Manufacturing teams.
What You'll Do- Perform design engineering tasks in support of prototype and production hardware, including part design, design iteration, and design-for-manufacturability (DFM) improvements
- Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and/or lathes, including fixture design and setup, tooling selection, prove-outs, and process verification
- Develop machining and fabrication strategies from mechanical drawings and CAD models to ensure dimensional accuracy and repeatability
- Operate large-format metal cutting laser systems and associated sheet metal fabrication equipment
- Set up and operate CNC press brakes and box/pan brakes for formed sheet metal components
- Perform part inspection using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools to verify conformance to specifications
- Support additive manufacturing (3D printing) activities, including setup, operation, and basic post-processing
- Create, modify, and maintain CAD models and drawings in Solid Works or similar CAD software
- Collaborate closely with Engineering to support prototype and production builds, design reviews, and manufacturing readiness
- Maintain equipment, tooling, and work areas in a safe, organized, and operational condition
- Document designs, manufacturing processes, setups, and lessons learned to support repeatability and knowledge transfer
- Bachelor's degree in a mechanical or manufacturing discipline, or 7-10 years' experience in lieu of degree.
- Technical training, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands-on experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience programming and operating a CNC mill and/or lathe in a manufacturing environment
- Experience operating laser cutting and sheet metal fabrication equipment
- Experience with 3D printing technologies preferred
- Familiarity with CAM software and CNC control interfaces
- Understanding of sheet metal forming principles and brake operation
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and CAD models
- Working knowledge of Solid Works or similar CAD software
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workmanship and quality
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing teams
- Must be able to qualify for and maintain a Security Clearance
At Select Tech, you'll work alongside a team that values innovation, precision, and purpose. Your expertise will directly contribute to solutions that deploy faster, operate with confidence, and are designed with purpose-helping us drive mission success.
