Personal Financial Counselor; Springfield, OH

Responsibilities

• Provide personal financial services at assigned military installations.
• Offer one‑on‑one counseling and consultation with a commander or other provider.
• Conduct briefings and presentations, and provide referral resources outside of counseling sessions.
• Assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences.
• Develop and distribute informational financial materials to service members and families.
• Coordinate, publicize, and deliver a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops covering topics across the military lifecycle (e.g., arrival at first duty station, pre‑ and post‑deployment, and personal and career events outlined in DoDI 1322.34).
• Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication such as web‑based, secure online chat, or secure video teleconference.
• Manages duty‑to‑warn situations according to Department of Defense (DoD) protocol.
• Communicate with leadership and participate in regular individual and group supervision, sharing information regarding trends and issues on assigned installations.
• Participate in regular in‑services, training, quality‑improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned or appropriate.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree required. Associate degree plus 4 years of experience or high school diploma plus 6 years of experience may be considered.
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English. Bilingual in English and Spanish may be required by contract.
• Must obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
• Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
• Must hold one of the following certifications:
  Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).

• Salary Range: $58,440 – $93,500 (base salary; may vary by location and individual qualifications).
