Responsibilities- Perform certain procedures and tasks under the direction of a registered nurse per state practice act, hospital policies, procedures, standards, practice skills, check lists and demonstrated competencies.
- Monitor, report and record cardiac rhythms and changes in cardiac rhythm accurately, per specific guidelines.
- Observe and accurately interpret cardiac monitors and report changes in baseline rhythm patterns.
- Document patient data per policy under direct supervision of RN/LPN or designated healthcare professional.
- Provide support to RN by assisting with patient care, retrieving supplies from other departments, and delivering specimens or picking up blood supplies from the laboratory.
- Provide clerical support and coordinate communication to support the function of the nursing unit.
- Demonstrate interpersonal skills, including telephone, electronic, and in person communication. Relay clear, concise information, use courtesy and tact with patients/visitors, employees and providers, and escalate issues using established protocols and the chain of command.
- Attend and participate in unit/department meetings per unit policy and participate in required programs.
- Participate in quality improvement studies and projects as directed.
- Note:
requires sitting for prolonged periods of time.
- HS Diploma/GED
- EKG Preferred
- STNA Preferred
- Preference for recent experience in acute care or long term care facility
- Computer proficiency with ability to access and input data into multiple programs preferred
- Must Pass EKG testing within 3 attempts to maintain employment on position
- CPR with BLS, Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers, obtained within 6 months of hire
- This is a bargaining unit position.
