Allied / Tech - Physical Therapy

The Physical therapist completes initial assessments, ongoing assessments and provides skilled therapeutic interventions to patients through the use of their educational knowledge, skill, and ability. This may involve outpatients, inpatients, pediatrics and in off-site locations. Services the patients as a part of the entire continuum of professional care.

Essential Job Functions:

• Evaluates patients, gathering pertinent information from various sources, and develops an appropriate treatment plan with specific goals.
• Responsible for ongoing assessment, efficiency of treatment plan and revisions of plan as needed.
• Provides direct therapy to patients on a daily basis.
• Provides instruction in therapeutic procedures to patients and family
• Maintains accurate and concise records on treatment provided and patient's progress.
• Provides timely co-signature for supervised PTA's.
• Maintains set level of productivity without jeopardizing quality.
• Delivers efficient and effective care to patients meeting and exceeding department standards.
• Maintains departmental policies and procedures regarding safety, infection control, time off requests and timecard recording.
• Supervises the physical therapist assistant’s treatment interventions and professional growth.
• Precepts in the direction and evaluation of clinical experience / internship of students from participating colleges or universities.
• Promotes rehabilitation services and wellness center activities with patients, family and caregivers, if applicable.

Licensing/Certification:

• Licensed Physical Therapist in the state of operation (required)
• BLS and CPR as required by the hospital (required)

Education:

• Doctorate degree in physical therapy (required)

• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit.

Working Conditions:

Additional Notes and Requirements:

• Acute Care Physical Therapist Needed
  - Temp to perm contract
• This position will not accept local candidates.
• Dysrhythmia Exam Not Required
• Must have BLS, Physical Therapist License
• At least 1 year of acute care exp required
• M-F- 8HR Day Shift
• No on call, No weekends or OT
• ITO will prescreen, manager will interview/offer

Unit Specific Details:

• Patient Population - Orthopedic patients, postoperative joint replacement, rotator cuff repair, mild neurological conditions, geriatric, Cardiac and step down unit
• For eight hour shift looking at 10 12 patients a day. Very normal to other outpatient facilities.
• Transfer equipment (Sara Steady, Hoyer)
• Pewter Gray Scrubs

Bonus eligible upon confirmation of converting to perm:
Sign-on bonus ($10,000 paid in two installments at 90 days and 1 year) and possible relocation assistance (up to $5K, awarded after perm start at 45 days, subject to…
