Data Center Server Support Specialist

ITCAPS LLC is seeking a Data Center Server Support Specialist for a 6-month onsite contract in Springfield, OH.

This role supports day-to-day data center operations, enterprise rack/tower servers, remote server management tools, Linux operating systems, documentation, field engineer coordination, and hardware support activity.

This is not a remote role.

The consultant must be onsite 5 days per week in Springfield, OH.

• Monitor the data center environment for hardware alerts, amber lights, hot doors, and related issues
• Support enterprise rack and tower server environments
• Use remote server management tools for server access, monitoring, troubleshooting, and support activity
• Support RHEL and Ubuntu operating system environments
• Escort dispatched field engineers when needed
• Support parts management and onsite coordination activity
• Maintain documentation including serial numbers, rack elevations, runbooks, and environment details
• Coordinate with customer teams on power, cooling, maintenance, and containment activity
• Work with technical support teams to help drive issue resolution
• Support BIOS lifecycle activity, user additions, patching, and version updates as directed
• Triage field service scheduling and break/fix activity

• Enterprise rack and tower server experience
• Remote server management tool experience
• RHEL and Ubuntu operating system experience
• Experience working in large-scale server environments
• Data center operations or infrastructure support experience
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• Ability to work onsite in Springfield, OH 5 days per week

• Field engineer coordination experience
• Parts management or data center inventory experience

This is a strong fit for a hands-on data center, infrastructure, or server support consultant who has worked directly with enterprise server hardware and can operate reliably in a customer environment.
