SUMMARY
The Facilities Technician plays an important role in supporting our nonprofit agency's mission by helping create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for everyone who walks through our doors. This hands‑on position cares for a 48,000 sq. ft. facility in Springfield, Ohio through daily cleaning, room setup, basic maintenance, and monitoring of building systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the facility and grounds.
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitizing of restrooms, locker rooms, pool areas, kitchens, offices, and common areas.
- Empty trash and recycling and maintain interior and exterior appearance.
- Set up and tear down rooms for programs, events, and community gatherings.
- Monitor building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, security, pool filtration) and report concerns.
- Perform light maintenance and minor repairs (changing light bulbs, touch‑up painting, filling dispensers).
- Assist with basic landscaping and seasonal snow and ice removal.
- Respond promptly to spills, accidents, and biohazard cleanups following safety protocols.
- Complete work logs and communicate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the mission.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work throughout the shift.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Working knowledge of cleaning tools, materials, and basic maintenance equipment.
- Strong attention to safety, cleanliness, and detail.
- Hands‑on, dependable, and takes pride in serving others through their work.
- Self‑starter who can manage daily tasks with minimal supervision.
- Observant and proactive in identifying safety, cleanliness, or maintenance needs.
- Practical problem‑solver with a service‑minded, common‑sense approach.
- Team‑oriented, respectful, and professional with staff, members, volunteers, and visitors.
- Willingness to learn new systems, equipment, and procedures.
