Primary Objective

The President serves as the operational leader and Integrator for Valco Industries and A&E Powder Coating. While the CEO focuses on strategic vision, market opportunities, acquisitions, and long-term value creation, the President is responsible for executing the business plan, driving operational excellence, developing leadership talent, and achieving annual financial objectives.

This leader ensures alignment across both organizations, translating strategic initiatives into measurable actions that drive profitable growth, increase EBITDA, and enhance enterprise value for employee-owners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own execution of the annual operating plan and financial targets.
  • Drive EBITDA growth through productivity improvements, cost controls, margin expansion, and revenue growth initiatives.
  • Monitor key financial and operational metrics and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Partner with Finance to improve forecasting, budgeting, cash flow management, and capital planning.
  • Ensure resources are allocated to maximize long-term enterprise value.
Operational Leadership
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of both organizations.
  • Ensure manufacturing, powder coating, quality, supply chain, and customer service functions operate efficiently and effectively.
  • Establish and maintain standard operating procedures and performance expectations across all departments.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
  • Remove operational barriers that limit growth and scalability.
Leadership Team Management
  • Lead, manage, and hold accountable the leadership team.
  • Establish clear goals, priorities, and performance expectations.
  • Develop succession plans and leadership capabilities throughout the organization.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure alignment between departmental objectives and company-wide goals.
  • Partner with Sales leadership to drive profitable revenue growth.
  • Support development and execution of strategic sales initiatives.
  • Maintain relationships with key customers and serve as an escalation point when necessary.
  • Ensure customer expectations are met through operational excellence and responsive service.
  • Promote cross-selling opportunities between business units.
ESOP Culture & Employee Engagement
  • Champion the principles of employee ownership.
  • Foster transparency, accountability, and engagement throughout the workforce.
  • Help employees understand how their actions impact company performance and ESOP value.
  • Promote a culture where safety, quality, customer service, and ownership are core values.
Strategic Execution
  • Translate the CEO’s vision into actionable plans and measurable results.
  • Ensure strategic initiatives are executed on time and within budget.
  • Drive organizational alignment and communication across both companies.
  • Provide the CEO with accurate operational and financial reporting to support decision-making.

Qualifications
  • Proven senior leadership experience in manufacturing, industrial, or related operations.
  • Proven success leading multi-functional teams and driving organizational performance.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, quality systems, supply chain, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated success improving EBITDA, margins, productivity, and operational performance.
  • Experience managing budgets, forecasting, and financial performance.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
  • ESOP experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
