Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring all production equipment, facility systems, and support assets are operating safely, efficiently, and reliably. This role performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and improvements on machinery used in printing, die‑cutting, fabrication, aerospace components, and facility infrastructure. The technician supports uptime, safety, and the overall 5S/lean environment of the plant.

Key Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance & Repair
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on production equipment (screen presses, digital printers, die‑cutters, ovens, compressors, etc.).

  • Perform corrective maintenance to minimize downtime and restore machines to proper operating condition.

  • Diagnose faults using drawings, manuals, multimeters, gauges, and observation.

  • Maintain HVAC, air compressors, vacuum systems, and facility utilities.

Preventive Maintenance (PM)
  • Follow the company PM schedule and complete tasks on time.

  • Inspect, lubricate, adjust, and replace components as required.

  • Document all PM activities in maintenance logs.

Facility & Infrastructure
  • Perform general building repairs (doors, security systems, lighting, plumbing, paint, flooring, etc.).

  • Support installation and setup of new machinery and equipment.

  • Assist with safety devices including mag‑locks, e‑stops, guarding, and machine interlocks.

Continuous Improvement
  • Contribute to a lean manufacturing environment through 5S, Kaizen, and equipment improvements.

  • Identify recurring equipment issues and propose long‑term solutions.

  • Support quality initiatives by ensuring machines are aligned, calibrated, and functioning within spec.

Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure all work follows OSHA, AS9100, and Cyfah, LLC safety requirements.

  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) compliance on every service task.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards.

Communication & Documentation
  • Record all repairs, downtime causes, and parts usage.

  • Communicate urgent equipment issues to leadership immediately.

  • Work with Production, Quality, and Operations leadership to support daily uptime and shift needs.

Skills & Qualifications Required
  • 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience (mechanical/electrical).

  • Strong troubleshooting ability across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and basic fabrication equipment.

  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, and manuals.

  • Understanding of preventive maintenance and reliability practices.

  • Basic computer skills for work orders, documentation, and email.

Preferred
  • Experience with screen‑printing presses, digital printers, die‑cutters, and converting equipment.

  • Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, or electronics assembly environments.

  • Knowledge of PLCs, sensors, mag‑locks, and industrial control systems.

  • Welding, light fabrication, machining, or carpentry skills.

Physical Requirements
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Stand/walk for extended periods.

  • Climb ladders, bend, kneel, and work in tight spaces when required.

  • Use PPE as required (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, etc.).

Work Environment
  • Fast‑paced manufacturing environment working around machinery, moving parts, and occasional chemical exposure.

  • Occasional after‑hours response for critical repairs.

  • Standard schedule with flexibility based on production needs.
