Reports to: Supervisor, Production
We are hiring Packaging Leads for 2nd shift to support our operations. In this role, you will oversee floor operations, coordinate tasks, follow and enforce all policies and procedures. Major Responsibilities and Tasks / Duties of the Position- Coordinate the activities of co-workers in order to meet production needs
- Has the responsibility and authority to report any problems pertaining to Safety, Food Safety and Quality to his/her supervisor
- Prepare run sequences
- Assign employees by line and task
- Coordinate relief for breaks, lunch, and shift switchover
- Communication with shift supervisors regarding daily events
- Perform all of the department job functions, as necessary
- Able to work around equipment and machinery
- Requires extensive problem‑solving skills
- Must be capable of performing and verify PMO’s quality checks
- Plan and execute product changeovers
- Completes Data Entry for changeovers and rework area
- Scanning MP bins to line with scanner in Scale Mezzanine and rework
- Paperwork duties
- Manage Scale Mezzanine, Rework and Box Room
- Employee must adhere to all policies, practices, and SOP’s related to producing Safe Quality Food (SQF)
- Ensure the integrity and continued operation of the food safety system in the event of organizational or personnel changes within the company or associated facilities
- Support special projects and other duties as assigned
- Should be able to read and work in a fast‑paced production environment
- Previous food manufacturing experience is preferred
- Previous leadership experience is preferred
- Ability to work overtime including weekends as required
- Ability to work in cold temperatures (32-35 degrees)
- Willing to follow PPE protocol (hairnet, hardhat, gloves, smock/ safety vest)
- Jewelry (earrings, necklaces, rings, watches) are not permitted on production floors
- Must be able to stand, walk, climb and work in confined or awkward spaces for extended periods of time
- Ability to maneuver around an array of equipment, to work in a cold environment, bend, stoop, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds
- 5‑day / 10‑hour work schedule
- Saturdays may be scheduled as a 12‑hour shift based on production needs
- 2nd Shift – $21.29/hour. 4:15 PM – until production is finished
- High School Diploma required
