Brake Press Operator - 1st Shift

Job Purpose

Setup and safely operate CNC Press Brakes to process/produce highest quality products.

• Setup and document tooling and safe practices for Press Brake operations
• Verify accuracy of machine settings to confirm accurate tolerances and machine functions.
• Maintain accurate parts and motivation in routine repetitive jobs.
• Maintain cleanliness of the machine during operations.
• Conduct checks to maintain required tolerances and quality.
• Complete all required safety procedures prior to and during operations.
• Communicate all production related items to next shift operators or shift supervisors.
• Operate, prove programs, operate controls, set all machine functions, deburr and inspect parts to assure conformance.
• Read and interpret drawings, sketches, manuals and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, sequence of operations and set‑up requirements.
• Organize work area before and after parts are processed, stacking completed parts properly on blocks or pallet to eliminate double handling and work efficiently.
• Detect equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjust machine within capabilities; report all malfunctions to Management.
• Calculate blank sizes, bend locations, appropriate tonnage and tooling for each part being formed.
• Communicate with management, production control, quality and other shop personnel to resolve machining or quality issues.
• Understand and work within an ERP System (Epicor).
• May perform other duties as assigned by Management.
• Support business needs in current position and other departments as needed.

• Proven experience as CNC operator
• Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
• Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM
• Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
• A keen eye for detail and results‑driven approach
• Good communication abilities
• High school diploma or equivalent; certificate or diploma in engineering or relevant discipline is a plus

Brake press operators work 6am-2:30pm with overtime available in the evenings and weekends in a manufacturing facility where they may be subject to loud noise.

Press brake operators work with their hands, lifting and moving large pieces of metal, and stand for hours at a time, all of which require physical strength and stamina. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

Starting at $21.50 / hour
