CNC Press Brake Operator

Setup and safely operate CNC Press Brakes to process/produce highest quality products. Duties and responsibilities include:

• Setup and document tooling and safe practices for Press Brake operations
• Verify accuracy of machine settings to confirm accurate tolerances and machine functions.
• Maintain accurate parts and motivation in routine repetitive jobs.
• Maintain cleanliness of the machine during operations.
• In process, checks to maintain all required tolerances and quality.
• Complete all required safety procedures prior to and during operations.
• Communicate all production related items to next shift operators or shift supervisors.
• Operate, proving programs, operating controls, setting all machine functions, deburring and inspection of parts to assure conformance.
• Work from drawings and sketches, read and understand manuals/specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished products, sequence of operations and set up requirements.
• Organize work area before and after parts are processed, stacking completed parts properly on blocks or pallet to eliminate double handling and work efficiently
• Detect equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjust machine within capabilities. Report all machine malfunctions to Management.
• Calculate blank sizes, bend locations, appropriate tonnage and tooling for each part being formed
• Communicate with management, production control, quality and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.
• Understand and work within an ERP System (Epicor)
• May perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Support business needs in current position and other departments as needed

Qualifications include:

• Proven experience as CNC operator
• Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
• Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM
• Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
• A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
• Good communication abilities
• High school diploma or equivalent; certificate or diploma in engineering or relevant discipline is a plus

Working conditions include Brake press operators work 6am-2:30pm with overtime available in the evenings and weekends in a manufacturing facility where they may be subject to loud noise. Physical requirements include working with their hands, lifting and moving large pieces of metal, and standing for hours at a time, all of which require physical strength and stamina. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

Additional details include pay starting at $21.50/hour + $2.00/hour shift differential. Schedule – 9:30pm - 6:00am Sunday - Thursday onsite.
