General Description / Primary

Purpose:

Under the direction of the Production Supervisor and PMO Lead, this position is responsible for operating all Hayssen and Triangle packaging equipment in a safe and responsible manner following the packaging machine operator SOP.

• Operate all Hayssen and Triangle packaging equipment
• Able to work around machinery and equipment
• Perform forming tube changeovers (7”,8”,9”,10”, 2lbs,3lbs,and 5lbs)
• Operate Yamato and Ishida scales
• Maintain the area clean
• Perform extensive problem solving
• Complete paperwork duties
• Perform quality checks, product changeover, and re-supplying of film
• Adhere to all policies, practices, and SOPs related to producing Safe Quality Food (SQF)
• Comply with Food Safety Requirements and GMPs applicable to this position
• Comply with other duties as assigned by Lead or Supervisor

• 2-4 years of experience operating packaging machinery
• Troubleshooting knowledge of machinery
• Basic math skills required
• Able to read and write legibly
• Excellent communication skills

• Work is performed in a cold environment with an average temperature of 34°F. Concentrated chlorine and concealed ammonia are present. Work surfaces and floors may be wet.
• Employees are required to wear approved shoes and protective equipment.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted and 20 lbs. overhead as job demands.
• Constant standing on a concrete floor, reaching, bending, stooping, and repetitive hand movements may be required.
• Moving machinery, including conveyor and forklifts, are in operation in the immediate area.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2-4 years of experience operating packaging machinery
