The primary purpose of this position is MIG welding of machine frames including sheet metal parts. This role involves mostly steel construction with some aluminum welding, basic machining (drill, tap, and saw) of products, and painting of products which requires the use of a respirator. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and pass a background check. Relocation is not available.

- Perform welding duties on tubular and angle machine frames
- Weld, grind, and finish sheet metal parts
- Use drawings, sketches, blueprints, and shop equipment to complete all phases of the product; produce strong penetrated welds that are non-porous and consistent
- Use fabrication skills to make products that meet drawing dimensions; finished products should be square, level, and accurate to drawings; free of weld splatter, weld undercut, or heavy grinding marks
- Use drill press for holes and tapping threads
- Organize workflow for maximum productivity of cutting, machining, welding, and packaging for shipment
- Effectively communicate with supervisor regarding material inventory, shop supply inventory, and product scheduling
- Cross-training and willingness to help in other departments when directed
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area
- Understand and apply standard welding techniques – required
- MIG weld experience required;
Oxy-acetylene torch experience is a plus - Must pass a pre-employment weld test
- Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics – required
- 3-5 years of experience in a heavy fabrication environment – preferred
- Experience operating shop equipment (saws, grinders, drill press, milling machine, overhead crane) – required
- Basic machining skills & ability to use standard tools – required; experience preferred
- Willingness to train and operate a forklift – required; experience preferred
- Willingness to train and operate paint gun, including use of respirator – required; experience preferred
- Physical requirements:
stand/walk for extended periods; navigate stairs & ladders multiple times per day; bend; kneel; twist; work overhead - Must be able to lift, lower and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be reliable, have a good work ethic, and have reliable transportation to work
- Must be trainable and willing to learn
- Must be able to work in hot & cold environments
- Must wear safety toe shoes and safety glasses in production areas
- First shift (6:00 a.m.
-4:30 p.m.), Monday-Thursday; unpaid 30-minute daily lunch break - Occasional mandatory overtime as directed
