Takes a roll of fabric and rewinds it to remove a problem or break it down into smaller rolls to meet customer quality or quantity requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Rewind large rolls by threading up the machine and running rolls to customers desired lengths.
- Wrap and identify finished rolls of fabric and bundle or palletize if required.
- Tag rolls for identification.
- Rewind rolls on hold by threading up and running roll to the area of flaw, remove flaw by splicing it if required.
- Conduct quality checks on material as required.
- Assist on the Coater as necessary (wrapping rolls or other duties trained to do).
- Clean up, sweep area around the machine including the main aisle.
- Bundle and bail scrap material.
- Wear safety shoes and hearing protection at all times.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous experience as a machine operator preferred.
- Knowledge of manufacturing and production procedures.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Team player.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee is often required to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job, include close vision and good color vision. While performing the duties of the job, the employee must work near moving mechanical parts.
