Metal Prep - PART TIME - 1st Shift - Springfield, Ohio

FMI is currently expanding and is looking to fill a metal prep opening. This position will support the fabrication facility with various metal finishing processes.

Duties and responsibilities

• Perform various metal finishing processes, including belt grinding, snag grinding, and rough and finish grinding
• Buff and polish different types of metals using various compounds
• Prepare parts for finish painting
• Identify and correct defects to produce a smooth surface to a specified finish

• Ability to work in a team as well as individually
• Ability to follow directions and work orders
• Good communication skills
• Time management skills
• Must be able to be on time to work everyday
• Must have the ability to learn new tasks
• Must have good measuring and mathematical skills
• Excellent organization skills with attention to detail
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
• Steel or composite toed boots required
• Must wear designated safety equipment
• Must pass pre-employment drug test

Working conditions

This job operates in a fabrication shop and may be completed in a confined area subject to loud noise.
