Position:
Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department (ED) – Springfield Regional Medical Center

The Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) provides high‑quality nursing care in a fast‑paced, high‑intensity setting.

Job Summary
  • Utilize strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status
  • Determine the priority of patient’s problems and needs
  • Implement clinical nursing interventions
  • Maintain a highly diverse skillset
  • Develop and perform patient care plans to improve outcomes
  • Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment
Essential Functions
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
  • Care for groups of patients in a fast‑paced, high‑intensity setting as part of an interprofessional team focused on achieving the best individual and population outcomes
  • Evaluate, update, and revise the plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes
  • Serve as point of contact for patients’ care coordination throughout hospital departments
  • Provide care to a broad spectrum of patients ranging from short‑stay to trauma
  • Administer medications safely in accordance with state practice and organizational policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Education & Certifications
  • Graduate of an accredited associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support and PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferred at hire; ACLS and PALS required within 6 months)
Experience & Training
  • One (1) year of professional experience as RN
  • Recent Emergency Department or Critical Care experience preferred, not required
  • EPIC Electronic Health Record training preferred, not required
