Job SummaryThe ICU (Critical Care) Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering outstanding nursing care to critical patients. Key duties include assessing patient status, prioritizing patient needs, implementing clinical interventions, developing patient care plans, and ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment.
Essential Functions- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
- Conduct and analyze initial and ongoing patient assessments, create and implement plans of care, and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
- Synthesize and prioritize information to make immediate, evidence-based, patient-focused decisions using clinical judgment and inquiry.
- Anticipate and respond confidently to rapidly changing patient conditions.
- Administer medications safely in accordance with state practice standards and organizational policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred, but not required).
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred at hire; must be obtained from an approved source before direct patient care; ACLS required within 6 months of hire). PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferred at hire; required in lieu of BLS/ACLS for Pediatric Units; must be obtained from an approved source before direct patient care).
- 1 year of RN experience (required).
- 6 months of RN experience in a Med/Surg, Critical Care, Stepdown, or Emergency Department Unit (preferred).
