Locum Nurse Practitioner - Cardiothoracic Surgery – Springfield, OH

- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm;
On-call (beeper/phone) evenings and weekends - Hours per Week: 40+
- Employment Type: Locum
- License/Certifications: Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Ohio, ACLS, BLS
- Experience Needed: 2+ years in cardiothoracic surgery or inpatient hospital setting
- Hourly Pay Rate: Paid upon contract specifics

- Provide post-op care to adult and geriatric cardiothoracic and vascular surgery patients
- Assist in emergency surgeries and perform vein harvesting
- Take consults and referrals from ED, Cath Lab, and hospital providers
- Assist during surgeries, including wound management and tissue retrieval
- Coordinate patient care plans and interpret diagnostic tests
- Prescribe medications and manage patient discharge planning
- Document thoroughly in Epic EMR system
- Ohio Nurse Practitioner license
- 2+ years of clinical experience, preferably in cardiothoracic or vascular surgery
- Strong skills in patient assessment, emergency response, and surgical assistance
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and multi-task effectively
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and on-call shifts

This role involves managing postoperative recovery, assisting in emergency surgeries, and delivering comprehensive patient care across a busy surgical unit.
