Summary:
The Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Specialist supports the implementation and effectiveness of food safety and quality systems throughout the facility. This role focuses on auditing processes, verifying compliance, identifying risks, investigating issues, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives that protect product quality, food safety, and customer requirements.
Responsibilities:- Conduct audits, inspections, and verification activities throughout the facility to evaluate compliance with food safety, quality, customer, GMP, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and communicate non-conformances, process deviations, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Review records, reports, and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Support investigations involving food safety concerns, quality issues, customer complaints, product holds, and process deviations.
- Assist with root cause analysis and the development, implementation, and verification of corrective actions.
- Perform product evaluations, testing, measurements, and verification activities to ensure compliance with established specifications.
- Collect environmental monitoring, allergen, sanitation, and other verification samples as required.
- Maintain assigned food safety and quality programs, records, and associated documentation.
- Monitor food safety and quality data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance food safety, quality, compliance, and operational performance.
- Participate in product hold, release, and disposition activities in accordance with established procedures.
- Promote food safety and quality standards through employee coaching, training, observation, and constructive feedback.
- Assist with preparation and support of customer, regulatory, and third-party audits.
- Immediately communicate food safety, quality, regulatory, or customer concerns to the FSQA Manager and appropriate site leadership.
- Perform other duties, projects, and food safety or quality-related initiatives as assigned.
- Maintain required food safety and quality records in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Escalate unresolved food safety and quality concerns when corrective actions are ineffective or not completed.
- Evaluate food safety and quality programs for effectiveness and recommend improvements when necessary.
- Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Sanitation teams to support food safety and quality objectives.
