Reports to: Facilities Manager
The Maintenance Certified Master Technician performs tasks to maintain, install, and troubleshoot food processing equipment, motors, starters, and building infrastructure (overhead doors/docks, HVAC, pallet wrappers). This position supports the production process by reducing equipment downtime through accurate and effective troubleshooting and timely repairs.
Major Responsibilities and Duties- Ensure the integrity and continued operation of the food safety system amid organizational or personnel changes.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and operate chlorine and ammonia systems.
- Tig weld stainless steel in a sanitary environment.
- Adhere to policies, practices, and SOPs related to SQF and GMP.
- Repair/finish drywall and paint.
- Install 460 V motors, starters, and disconnects.
- Install and troubleshoot control circuits, panels, and program PLCs.
- Perform preventive maintenance on docks and doors.
- Understand 1000 CFM air compressor systems, including air dryers.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 8–10 years of maintenance experience.
- HVAC experience for diagnosis and repair.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret operation instructions, installation manuals, and SDS.
- Excellent electrical skills including VFDs, control circuits, and reading schematics.
- Decision‑making, attendance, following directions, teamwork, and constructive criticism acceptance.
- Safety sensitive; must pass independent drug screening.
- Mobility to work in typical shop, mechanical room, or maintenance setting; operate trade equipment, hand & power tools, standard office equipment, and drive a motor vehicle.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, and work in confined or awkward spaces for extended periods.
- Maneuver equipment; work in cold environment; lift up to 50 lb; operate in 35 °F on plant floor.
- Respond to emergencies after hours.
- Drive short distances to pick up supplies.
- Work flexible hours.
- Trade School Certificate;
Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree preferred. - High School Diploma or GED required.
