Typical Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Experience- Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in safety administration within an electric utility, water utility, or closely related industry.
- Public sector experience preferred.
- Experience leading tailboards, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and emergency operations procedures.
- Experience working directly with or supporting field crews, demonstrating credibility and a strong understanding of operational work groups.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, Risk Management, Industrial Hygiene, Public Administration, or a related field. In lieu of a bachelor's degree, an associsate degree, completion of a recognized apprenticeship with journey-level status in a utility-related trade, industry-recognized technical certification with training in a utility and eight (8) years of experience in safety administration within an electric utility, water utility, or closely related industry may be substituted.
- Driving is an essential function of this position. A valid Oregon driver's license is required or must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.
- Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10-Hour Construction Safety Training, OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Training, OSHA 7505:
Introduction to Accident Investigation, ICSI 100 and IS 700 certifications are required or must be obtained within six (6) months of hire. - Professional safety certifications such as Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Certified Loss Control Professional (CLCP) are preferred.
- Ability to obtain certification as a CPR/First Aid Trainer, Forklift Trainer, and other certifications as identified by the organization.
