Position SummaryThe Pediatric Surgeon will provide compassionate, high-quality care while practicing within the scope of their training, licensure, and credentials. This physician will collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve exceptional outcomes for patients and families.
Essential Functions- Practice medicine within the scope of licensure, training, and credentialing.
- Provide care consistent with established standards of care and quality guidelines.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care appropriate to the age and developmental needs of the patient.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- MD or DO from an accredited School of Medicine
- Completion of an accredited fellowship program in Pediatric Surgery
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as a physician in the State of Oregon
- Board Certified or Board Eligible (must achieve certification within five years of training completion)
- DEA registration
- Current CPR certification
- Demonstrated expertise in the clinical management of pediatric surgical patients
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education
- Ability to meet department-specific training requirements
- Ability to work varied hours, including on-call and callback responsibilities
- Must not be excluded from participation in Medicare or Medicaid programs
Physical Requirements
- Patient handling up to 35 lbs. without assistive devices
- Fine motor skills necessary to perform surgical and procedural duties
- Ability to perform CPR requiring 100–125 lbs. of force
- Frequent sitting, standing, and walking
- Occasional bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting
- Exposure to biohazardous materials, body fluids, and airborne particles
- Hospital and clinical care environment
- Vision and hearing sufficient to perform essential job functions (corrective devices permitted)
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information effectively
