Join an established electrophysiology and cardiology team in Springfield, Oregon, providing inpatient and outpatient EP coverage. This full-time 1.0 FTE locums opportunity is available due to a gap in coverage and is currently approved for 6 months, with potential for a 3-month extension. The schedule includes clinic coverage for 3–4 days followed by adjacent weekend EP call, with approximately two weeks of coverage needed per month.
Start Date:
January 1, 2027. January 2027 is the current anticipated start. Earlier coverage may become available if needed.
Contract Length: 6 months, with potential extension for an additional 3 months.
FTE: 1.0 FTE
Schedule:
- 8-hour clinic shifts
- 3–4 days of clinic followed by adjacent weekend call
- Weekend call approximately 1–2 times per month
- Coverage needed approximately 2 weeks per month
- Additional EP lab days may be available for the right candidate
Coverage Requirements:
- Inpatient and outpatient electrophysiology
- Clinic and hospital privileges
- Weekend EP call
- Telephone call after 5:00 PM
- Weekend rounding
- Inpatient pacemaker implantation Saturday and Sunday
- Admissions as needed
- DCCV cardioversion
- Geriatric and adult patients age 50+

Clinical Details & Responsibilities:
Practice Setting:
Inpatient, Outpatient, Clinic, Hospital
Facility Details: 388 beds
Patient Population:
Geriatric patients and adults age 50 and older
Patient Volume:
Approximately 3–4 patients per day
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Provide outpatient electrophysiology care
- Provide inpatient EP consultation and management
- Round on hospitalized patients
- Perform admissions as needed
- Perform inpatient pacemaker implantation
- Perform DCCV cardioversion
- Provide weekend EP coverage
- Participate in telephone call after 5:00 PM
- Provide inpatient rounding during weekend coverage
- Collaborate with interventional and general cardiology teams
Required Procedures:
- Inpatient pacemaker implantation
- DCCV cardioversion
Call Responsibilities:
Weekend EP Call:
- Telephone call after 5:00 PM
- Weekend rounding
- Inpatient pacemaker implantation Saturday and Sunday
- Approximately 5 hours per day of weekend inpatient responsibilities, generally 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Interventional and general cardiology will also be on call during weekends
Requirements:
- MD/DO – Required
- Board Certified Electrophysiology – Required
- Active Oregon Medical License – Required
- Facility will explore licensing for qualified candidates
- Minimum 2 years of experience – Required
- BLS – Required
- ACLS – Required
- BLS/ACLS certifications must be from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, as applicable
Credentialing:
Please inquire for current credentialing timeline. The first day should be reserved for orientation and credentialing-related tasks.
