Salary and BenefitsThe salary range is $47,588 - $103,098 (based on the 2026-27 SEA Certified salary schedule) depending on education and experience plus a generous benefit plan.
About the DistrictSpringfield Public Schools is located in Springfield, Oregon, in the heart of the Willamette Valley, and serves 185 square miles of the city of Springfield and East/Central Lane County. About the PositionSpringfield Public Schools seeks outstanding candidates for the position of Learning Specialist teacher at the Middle School (6-8) level. Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge and experience with middle school-aged students;
- Strong understanding of multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) for academics and social/emotional/behavior
- Knowledge and experience working in a school or district that implements the concepts of Response to Instruction & Intervention (RtI);
- Knowledge of school-wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS);
- Demonstrated understanding of, and responsiveness to, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds that characterize a K-12 school community in a manner specific to the position;
- Strong student relationship building skills and the ability to establish a sound system of classroom routines and management;
- Establishes effective, collaborative working relationships with diverse staff, student and community populations.
- Knowledge and experience with providing individualized, precise instruction for diverse learners that supports the implementation of the core curriculum.
- Ability to effectively manage and supervise students and their work.
- A valid state of Oregon teaching license, or the ability to get one, with a Special
Education:
Generalist endorsement; - Successfully pass fingerprinting, criminal, Oregon Department of Education, and TSPC background checks.
