Student Work Experience - Technology Services

Springfield Public Schools is looking for motivated, dependable student workers to join our Technology Services team for the summer! This is a great opportunity for students age 16 and older to gain hands‑on work experience, learn valuable technology skills, and be part of a fun and supportive team environment. There may be opportunities to return and work with us in future summers as well!

As a Summer Technology Student Worker, you’ll help prepare student devices for the upcoming school year by unpacking and organizing Chromebooks and iPads, applying labels and bar codes, recording device information, cleaning and updating returned devices, and helping keep our workspace organized. Students with an interest in technology may also have the opportunity to learn more advanced “techie” skills, including basic Chromebook repair and troubleshooting.

These summer positions run Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., beginning in late June 2026 after the school year ends and continuing through August 22, 2026. If you enjoy working with technology, like staying busy, and want to build real‑world job skills while supporting Springfield Public Schools, we’d love to have you on our team!

General Expectations:

  • Arrive on time.
  • Dress appropriately.
  • Contact your site supervisor if you are ill.
  • Keep cell phones away during work times.

Rate of Pay: State Minimum Wage - $15.05 per hour

Pay Dates: occur on the 15th of each month, for work performed in the month prior.

Springfield Public Schools Equity Stance

In Springfield Public Schools, we acknowledge that systemic barriers have perpetuated disparities and disproportionate outcomes for students from historically marginalized populations. We believe that educational equity is about providing every student with the opportunities and resources to thrive, and removing the barriers that have led to the predictability of academic success based on identity. We assert that working for educational equity is the responsibility of each person in our system.

We strive to create welcoming and inclusive cultures and environments that embrace and affirm the identity of each student inclusive of race, ethnicity, disability, family economics, mobility, language, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, initial proficiencies, immigration status, and religion. We are committed to standing up to bias and discrimination.

We recognize that achieving educational equity is a process of assessment, reflection, and continuous improvement. We engage in these practices so that across our system, teaching and learning can be appropriately varied and responsive to every student, every day.
