Salary & Benefits

The salary range is $47,588 – $103,098 (based on the 2026–27 SEA Certified Salary Schedule), depending on education and experience, plus a generous benefits package.

About the Position

In anticipation of possible vacancies, Springfield Public Schools seeks outstanding candidates for Elementary Learning Specialist (Elementary K–5) positions. All hiring will be contingent upon available funds. This role is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in students’ lives by providing specialized support that helps every learner access, engage in, and succeed within the core curriculum.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Experience working with elementary-aged students;
  • Strong understanding of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) for academic and social/emotional/behavioral needs;
  • Knowledge of and experience with Response to Instruction & Intervention (RtI) frameworks;
  • Familiarity with Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS);
  • Demonstrated ability to support and respond to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds present in a K–12 school community;
  • Strong relationship-building skills with students and the ability to establish effective classroom routines and management systems;
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with staff, students, and families;
  • Experience providing individualized, explicit instructional aligned to the core curriculum;
  • Ability to effectively manage and supervise students and their learning.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A valid Oregon teaching license (or ability to obtain one) with a Special

    Education:

    Generalist endorsement;
  • Ability to successfully pass fingerprinting, criminal, Oregon Department of Education, and TSPC background checks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual/Biliterate (Spanish)
