Paraprofessional / IA
Springfield Public Schools invites candidates to join our team as Substitute Educational Assistants for the 2026-27 school year. The role involves working on a flexible schedule during school days from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, with shift lengths ranging from 3 to 7.75 hours per day. Assistants may work on‑call or schedule in advance through the district’s software, Frontline.
Successful candidates will support our district vision, "Every Student a Graduate Prepared for a Bright and Successful Future," by communicating effectively with staff, students, and parents; demonstrating initiative and good judgment; and adapting to varied learning environments.
Minimum Qualifications- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students and parents.
- Able to take initiative and use good judgment.
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to different learning environments.
- Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions, policies and procedures.
- Ability to meet federal reading, writing and mathematics requirements (proof of Associates degree or higher, or ability to pass the district’s academic assessment).
- Knowledge of clerical and office procedures and equipment (e.g., answering phones, providing customer service, making copies).
- Commitment to practice cultural competency and demonstrate respect for diversity.
- Bilingual/bi-cultural individuals encouraged to apply.
- Associates degree or higher (attach diploma) OR 72 credit hours or 48 semester units of post‑secondary study (attach transcripts) OR high‑school diploma/GED with state or local academic assessment or para‑professional certificate in reading/language arts, writing and mathematics or readiness.
- Valid First Aid/CPR card and completion of Safe Schools training modules.
- Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.
