Salary & Benefits

The salary range is $47,588 – $103,098(based on the 2026–27 SEA Certified Salary Schedule ), depending on education and experience,plus a generous benefits package . The salary will be pro-rated based on hire date if hired after September 1, 2026.

About

the Position

Springfield Public Schools seeks outstanding candidates for positions of Temporary, Full-Time (1.0 FTE) Elementary Learning Specialist (Grades K–5) for the 26/27 school year only. This role is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in students’ lives by providing specialized support that helps every learner access, engage in, and succeed within the core curriculum.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students;
  • Strong understanding of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) for academic and social/emotional/behavioral needs;
  • Knowledge of and experience with Response to Instruction & Intervention (RtI) frameworks;
  • Familiarity with Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS);
  • Demonstrated ability to support and respond to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds present in a K–12 school community;
  • Strong relationship-building skills with students and the ability to establish effective classroom routines and management systems;
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with staff, students, and families;
  • Experience providing individualized, explicit instruction aligned to the core curriculum;
  • Ability to effectively manage and supervise students and their learning.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A valid Oregon teaching license (or ability to obtain one) with aSpecial

    Education:

    Generalist endorsement;
  • Ability to successfully pass fingerprinting, criminal, Oregon Department of Education, and TSPC background checks.

  • Bilingual/Biliterate (Spanish)
