Salary and Benefits

The salary range is $47,588 - $103,098 (based on the 2026-27 SEA Certified salary schedule) depending on education and experience plus a generous benefit plan. Salary will be pro-rated for any hire date after September 1, 2026.

About the Position

Springfield Public Schools seeks outstanding candidates for the position of Temporary, Full-Time (1.0 FTE) Learning Specialist teacher at the Middle School (6-8) level for the 26/27 school year only. Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge and experience with middle school-aged students;
  • Strong understanding of multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) for academics and social/emotional/behavior
    • Knowledge and experience working in a school or district that implements the concepts of Response to Instruction & Intervention (RtI);
    • Knowledge of school-wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS);
  • Demonstrated understanding of, and responsiveness to, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds that characterize a K-12 school community in a manner specific to the position;
  • Strong student relationship building skills and the ability to establish a sound system of classroom routines and management;
  • Establishes effective, collaborative working relationships with diverse staff, student and community populations.
  • Knowledge and experience with providing individualized, precise instruction for diverse learners that supports the implementation of the core curriculum.
  • Ability to effectively manage and supervise students and their work.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A valid state of Oregon teaching license, or the ability to get one, with a Special

    Education:

    Generalist endorsement;
  • Successfully pass fingerprinting, criminal, Oregon Department of Education, and TSPC background checks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual/Biliterate (Spanish)
