X-Ray Tech Per diem

Oregon Urology Institute, one of the largest and most advanced urological centers in the Northwest, is seeking a per diem X-Ray Technologist to support the Imaging team. The X-Ray Technologist is responsible for completing X-Ray procedures as part of the patient’s care plan.

• Prepare patients for radiologic procedures and take x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
• Use a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials.
• Prepare contrast media and barium.
• Ensure equipment is in working order; report malfunctions to supervisor.
• Log radiologic procedures completed and process related paperwork using computer equipment as directed.
• Maintain examination rooms and stock necessary medical and radiologic supplies.

• Graduate of an accredited X-Ray technology program.

• Previous demonstrated experience as an X-Ray Technologist.

• Current Basic Life Support certification required.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists registration.
• OBMI licensure in radiologic technology.

• Knowledge of x-ray procedures and protocols.
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform x-ray procedures, including body mechanics and patient movement.
• Knowledge of radiology equipment, including safety hazards common to radiology.

• Skill in positioning patients properly.
• Skill in identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor.

• Ability to apply written instructions and standardized work practices.
• Ability to communicate clearly.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, patients and families.

• Exam and treatment rooms.
• Exposure to radiation, communicable diseases and other conditions common to radiology settings.

• Standing 4–6 hours per day, walking, stooping, and bending.
• Requires ability to move equipment and transfer patients.
• Occasional stress in working with tense patients.

Oregon Urology Institute is a private multi-specialty practice with no nights or weekends. This is a per diem position and shifts will vary as patient volume dictates.
