Direct Support Professional (DSP Community Driver)
At Rise & Shine, your role is to help clients live their best lives by providing personal care, cooking meals together, transportation to appointments and community activities, medication administration, documentation, and celebrating milestones.
Typical Day- Help clients get ready for their day (including personal care when needed)
- Cook meals together
- Drive to appointments or community activities
- Administer medications after training
- Keep a safe, clean, welcoming home environment
- Celebrate milestones big and small
- Complete required documentation

Preferred Qualifications- 1–2 years of experience as a DSP or CNA preferred, but not required.
- Experience using Therap preferred, but not required.
- At least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills and ability to complete electronic documentation.
- Pass and maintain all Oregon-mandated criminal background screenings and eligibility requirements.
- Remain awake and alert while on shift.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing, personal automobile insurance, and approval under the agency’s insurance policy.
- Ability to drive for extended periods as part of assigned duties.
- Flexibility to work at different program locations based on needs.
- Successfully complete and maintain all required training, certifications, competency requirements, and continuing education.
- Physically capable of demonstrating and performing all required intervention techniques, support strategies, rescue procedures, emergency response protocols, and associated duties.
- Lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical support tasks such as bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, reaching, kneeling, crouching, and transfer-related support within training and safety guidelines.
- Stand and walk for extended periods and navigate stairs as required.
- Safely perform personal care, mobility support, household tasks, and community-based activities as required by individual support plans.
- Respond appropriately in emergency situations.
- Perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
