Senior Employee Relations Consultant

Full-Time Position, Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct confidential and professional employee relations internal investigations.
  • Document all employment matters in the electronic database system (HR Acuity).
  • Provide guidance to leaders on employee relation issues such as coaching, disciplinary recommendations, and other actions that lead to successful outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with the Regional Labor Relations Director on employee activities that have implications under union contracts.
  • Work with Privacy and Compliance officers on related topics and provide guidance as needed.
  • Manage leave policies and regulations for employees, including FMLA, OFLA, and PLO.
  • Oversee Workers’ Compensation activities: claims processing, follow‑ups, light duty accommodations, OSHA logs, and related documentation.
  • Lead the ADA accommodation process in partnership with vendor processing and determinations.
  • Support overall employee recognition and engagement action plans to drive improvement.
  • Assist with benefits administration and communication activities, including retirement plans.
  • Act as liaison between employees and insurance companies regarding claims and coverage questions.
  • Conduct local Open Enrollment activities.
  • Process step increases, changes to differentials, and other salary administration activities; ensure communication between managers and employees.
  • Prepare wage scales and upload increases to comply with union contracts and medical center compensation practices.
  • Ensure compensation practices are equitable and compliant with all union labor contracts and unrepresented/non‑union staff policies and procedures.
  • Complete EFM filing for items related to job duties.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience managing large‑scale organizational change.
  • Thorough comprehension of federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi‑task and manage multiple responsibilities with varying priorities.
  • Remarkable critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Experience, Education, and Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with major or emphasis in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field (equivalent work experience may be considered).
  • 5+ years progressive human resources employee relations experience required.
  • Healthcare experience strongly desired.
  • Strong experience in employee relations and leave management.
  • Previous experience with HRIS systems, Ulti Pro/UKG preferred.
