1st & 2nd shift (15% shift differential).
OverviewGreiner Industries is seeking a skilled Industrial/Automotive Painter who will be responsible for surface preparation, paint mixing, and application to ensure high‑quality finishes that meet company and customer specifications. This role requires preparing surfaces, applying coatings to proper mil thickness standards, reading blueprints and SOPs, and safely operating ladders and material‑handling equipment such as hoists or overhead cranes. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, knowledge of painting tools and materials, and a commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
Duties & Responsibilities- Sand and smooth surfaces of units or components to prepare them for painting.
- Wipe down surfaces to remove dust, dirt, and oils to ensure proper paint adhesion.
- Apply caulk to seams and joints as needed to ensure proper seal and finish.
- Assist with the setup and preparation of parts for the paint booth or finishing process.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including keeping tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Safely work from ladders to reach high or hard‑to‑access areas during prep work.
- Work closely with the paint and finishing team to ensure high‑quality and timely production.
- Follow all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist in other prep or manufacturing tasks as directed by the supervisor.
- All positions require customer focus with a service‑oriented attitude and strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to adapt to changes in daily activities.
- Ability to travel and work overtime or weekends, as needed, to meet customer and in‑house demands.
- All applicants must pass a background check and drug/alcohol screening and must have a clean driving record.
- Previous manufacturing or hands‑on work experience preferred but not required.
- Basic understanding of sanding and surface preparation techniques.
- Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently.
- Willingness to learn new skills and work as part of a team.
- Ability to safely work from ladders and reach overhead.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- No formal education is required, but a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Entry‑level position with on‑the‑job training available.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is a plus.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and reach overhead frequently.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work safely at heights using ladders.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail and quality.
